For those of you who don’t know, I’m doing the 100 Happy Days challenge. You can read about it here. To keep up to date with my challenge, you can follow me on instagram. Here’s a summary of this week’s snaps!
This was my first instagram with #100happydays. I went out for dinner with my two friends from home. We thought it would be a civilised way to have one last gossip before we all went back up to uni. We went to a place called Tammy’s Thai in Lingfield and I had Thai Red Curry – a first for me. It was delicious! Harriet (bottom right) was the person who told me about the challenge, and I decided I really wanted to do it so made them get in a picture with me, which, as you can tell, Megan was thrilled about!
On Thursday I went to see Henry V in London at the Noël Coward Theatre, starring Jude Law. My dad booked it as it was his 50th birthday on the day, and it was a lovely way to celebrate! I’ll be posting a review of the play on my blog in a few days, so if you’re interested in that, keep your eyes peeled.
The next day was another birthday celebration for dad. My mum booked a hotel in London for us and some close family friends to surprise him. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay there on his actual birthday as he had already arranged to go to the theatre, but it meant we could drag out the celebrations for longer so no one minded too much! We had a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant (called One Twenty One Two), and this is the seabass I had for my main. We all had such a delicious meal and a lovely stay, it was definitely a treat!
On Saturday morning we were still in London, so decided to be cultural and visit the British Museum. It was a beautiful day with clear skies and I thought the museum’s classical architecture against the blue backdrop was too good a photo op to miss.
Sunday night was Sherlock night! I love this programme, I’ve watched all three series and the latest episode did not disappoint. I am also a massive Cumberbatch fan (well who isn’t?) so switching the telly on to watch this made me very happy.
I got a vinyl player for my birthday back in June, and I love it. There’s nothing more exciting than finding an old record you’ve been hunting for for ages! And I love listening to them, I think the sound has such a raw quality. I’m slowly amassing quite a collection of Bruce Springsteen LP’s (the Boss is my fave). For Christmas my mum bought me a new record, Adele’s 21. Although it hasn’t got that vintage look or feel, her voice is stunning and it’s lovely to be able to hear it on a record player.
My friend Kate went to America over christmas and whenever we go to the US we always bring each other back yummy food that isn’t available in the UK. This time she brought me back some Smores flavoured Goldfish (which I am so excited to try) and these scrummy White Fudge Covered Oreos. I have already worked my way through a fair portion of the packet, they are SO good!
There’s a bakery opposite the place where I work that sells four sausage rolls for £1. Yes, that’s right, one pound. It’s too good a deal to pass up. I didn’t have anything to make at home for lunch, so I grabbed these on my way home after work. I think there’s going to be a lot of food pictures over these 100 days!
