I’m being a little controversial in fashion world today – I’m pairing navy and black. What?! I hear you scream. But everyone knows that should NEVER be done! Well, I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks breaking the rules is kinda fun! I know they shouldn’t strictly go together but I think I’ve found a way to make it work. I’ve decided the key is to find a very dark navy or to wear a minimal amount of it, and this Urban Outfitters jumper has both! I’ve recently become a mega fan of the colour black. I was always more of a colourful person when it came to buying clothes, but now black’s become my go-to colour when I want to look effortlessly chic – not something that happens all that often, admittedly. Anyway, I’m finding that my black jeans and boots are being worn more regularly and to switch the colour monotony up a little bit and add a pop of something else on top. I snapped up this jumper in the sale a couple of weeks ago (which FYI is still available at more than half-price), and I love its textured pattern! It’s so snuggly and warm. It is navy, but it’s so dark I think it works with the black jeans. I wore it with the H&M necklace I picked up the other week, and this gorgeous Zara bag which I’m now obsessed with!
What do you think of navy and black? Is it always a fashion faux-pas or do you think it can be rocked if it’s subtle enough?
