FOTN: A Naked Palette Dupe and a Bold Lip

I was recently given this gorgeous Rimmel neutral eye pallette for my birthday, and couldn’t wait to try out the shades. It’s so compact which made it great for taking on holiday with me, and if you don’t want to splash out on something like the Urban Decay Naked Palettes, I think this is a great alternative. I have it in the shade 22 Brixton Brown. I decided to use it most nights on holiday for evenings when we went out to eat! My favourite of the five shades has to be the gorgeous warm copper toned one in the middle. I’m wearing it my crease here, blended with some of the top right highlight shade all over the lid and browbone, as well as a little of the bottom right taupe shade on the lid. The bronze colour just makes everything more warm, perfect for summer! The formula of these eyeshadows isn’t as long-lasting or buttery as the Naked ones and I did find that they creased if I was wearing them for a long time, but if you want a quick, smokey, neutral eye before heading out to dinner, this is a great option!

I didn’t want to go too sultry on the eyes, so I left them with just a smidge of brown eyeliner on the outer corner of my eyelid as I wanted to wear Bobbi Brown’s Sheer Lip Colour in Rosy. I’ve done a full review of this here, so I won’t go on for too long about it, but while on holiday I found this was the perfect bold lip option for the hot weather simply because of the formula. It’s moisturising, highly pigmented but still pretty sheer. By all means, you can build it up for a more dramatic effect, but in the heat I hate having to worry about re-applying lip colour. It’s such a faff! If this fades or comes off through the evening, it’s not going to leave you with a line of red around your lips. As a drugstore alternative, I think the formula of Rimmel London’s Moisture Renew Lipsticks do a similar thing! Although this Bobbi Brown shade is, in my opinion, pretty unique – the perfect balance of pink and red.

The rest of my makeup I kept natural and glowy. All the products are listed below:

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in Light Vanilla

Seventeen Phwoar Paint in Fair

L’Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighting Concealer

Maybelline Bronzer (discontinued)

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Dim Infusion

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner in Bronze

Benefit They’re Real Mascara (which I love for giving me super volumised lashes by the way)!

What are your favourite products to use on a summer evening? Do you keep it natural or go all out?
