This week I’ve been keeping my makeup pretty minimum as I haven’t been doing anything too exciting (unless you count essay writing as exciting, which I definitely don’t). I’ve been looking for a good BB cream/tinted moisturiser for a while now, and the other day I decided to pick up the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream in Light. Its claims to hydrate, brighten and add an ‘instant fresh faced glow’ – exactly what I was looking for. I’ll give you my first thoughts as this is literally the first time I’ve tried it, so I can’t give an accurate review (but keep your eyes peeled because if I like it there’s sure to be one soon). I’m pretty impressed with this BB cream so far – it seems to be doing what it says on the tin. It definitely gives a dewy glow, which is great for my dry-ish skin. It is incredibly sheer, I applied 2 layers and, in some areas (nose and chin) 3 before I got a totally even looking skin tone, but I don’t mind that because I was looking for a really light-weight base I can throw on when I’m having a good skin moment or when I don’t feel like wearing a full face of slap.
I paired the BB cream with Mac’s eyeshadow in Ricepaper for a subtle champagne shimmer on the lids, my favourite blush at the moment (Bourjois in Rose Frisson), and for a pop of colour I slicked on 17 Lipstick in Make and Entrance.
Save the lip colour (which you can always switch for a subtle nude), I think this is a lovely ‘no-makeup makeup’ look, perfect for the warmer months! Have you tried the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream? What did you think?
